UNGS 1201 Week 6 : Roles of Institutions for Sustainable Development

Haluuu Assalamualaikum guys !! Are you guys doing good ? I hope you are in a good physical and mental ! So, this week I would like to share about ....

"Roles of Institutions for Sustainable Development"

So let's focus to this topic. Before that, what do you thinks SDG's that can be related to this topic ? Yass ! There are two of them which are :

What is SDG 17 ? SDG 17 refers to the need for cross sector and cross country collaboration in pursuit of all the goals by the year 2030. It is a call for countries to align policies. SDG 17 is a vision for improved and more equitable trade, as well as coordinated investment initiatives to promote sustainable development across borders. It is about strengthening and streamlining cooperation between nation-states, both developed and developing, using the SDGs as a shared framework and a shared vision for defining that collaborative way forward. It seeks to promote international trade, and help developing countries increase their exports to ensure a universal rules-based and equitable trading system that is fair, open and beneficial to all.

So what is Global initiatives on this SDG 17 ? UN Sustainable Development Group (UNSDG) serves as high-level forum for joint policy formation and decision-making. There are many reasons we need integration of initiatives such as cooperation and partnership, governance, data and monitoring, capacity building, finance and policy coherence.

Next, how about National Initiatives Malaysia ? The Malaysian government has made a firm commitment for the implementation of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through the five-year development plans. All subsequent five-year plans, including the 11th Malaysia Development Plan (2016-2020), have underscored the elements of sustainable development, such as sustainable economic growth and striving for equitable distribution throughout society, access to basic infrastructure and utilities, access to education and healthcare services, and mainstreamed environmental conservation. As a nation, we excel at building the language of sustainable development into our policies and made significant progress.

So, as citizens we have to take part in this initiatives because all that benefit will comes to us back.
Individuals efforts can greatly contribute towards advancing the sustainable development goals. We are often faced with the doubt of how we can positively influence our sustainable development behavior, it is necessary to understand that the problems that affect sustainability are not restricted to large companies, in one way or another we all contribute to our grain of sand.

That's all from me. Thank you ! Good bye 💦
